Barriss Offee was a Mirialan Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars, serving under the Jedi Order. She was known for her deep understanding of Jedi philosophy and her close friendship with Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker's Padawan. Barriss and Ahsoka often worked together on missions, forming a strong bond of camaraderie and mutual respect.
However, Barriss ultimately became disillusioned with the Jedi Order's involvement in the war. She believed the Jedi had lost their way, compromising their values and prolonging the conflict. This disillusionment led her down a dark path.
In a shocking betrayal, Barriss bombed the Jedi Temple hangar, framing Ahsoka Tano for the crime. Her goal was to expose the Jedi Order's perceived hypocrisy and force them to reconsider their role in the war. Her actions resulted in Ahsoka being wrongly accused and briefly expelled from the Order. Barriss confessed her crimes and was subsequently imprisoned.
While her reasons were rooted in a desire for peace, her methods were extreme and ultimately destructive, permanently damaging the trust within the Jedi Order and contributing to Ahsoka Tano's eventual departure.
